Description
Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.
A type confusion vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Office, specifically in the Outlook and Word applications. This vulnerability allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally by accessing resources using incompatible types. The issue arises from how Outlook (classic) renders emails, utilizing Microsoft Word functionality, which creates an opportunity for exploitation.
Users can apply the security update for Microsoft Office LTSC 2024, available for both 32-bit and 64-bit editions.
