Description
NocoDB is software for building databases as spreadsheets. Prior to 2026.04.1, the client-side hashRedirect plugin called window.location.replace() on a path extracted from the URL hash fragment after only checking hashPath.startsWith('/'). Protocol-relative URLs (//attacker.com/…) also satisfy that check, so a crafted link silently redirected visitors to an attacker-controlled origin. This vulnerability is fixed in 2026.04.1.
An open redirect vulnerability has been identified in NocoDB versions prior to 2026.04.1. The issue arises in the client-side hashRedirect plugin, which uses window.location.replace() to redirect users based on the URL hash fragment. The plugin only checks if the hash path starts with a '/', allowing protocol-relative URLs to bypass this check. As a result, a crafted link could silently redirect users to an attacker-controlled site. This vulnerability could be exploited without any authentication, potentially leading to phishing attacks by impersonating a NocoDB login page.
Users can update to NocoDB version 2026.04.1 or later to address this vulnerability.
