Description
Improper verification of access permissions when modifying permissions through the Administration Control Panel (ACP) allowed an authenticated administrator to grant permissions beyond the level authorized for their account, resulting in privilege escalation within the administrative interface.
A vulnerability in phpBB's Administration Control Panel (ACP) allowed authenticated administrators to improperly modify access permissions. This flaw enabled them to grant themselves elevated permissions beyond what their account was authorized for, leading to unauthorized privilege escalation within the administrative interface.
