CVE-2026-47331 Details
Description
Ubuntu Linux 6.8 contains AppArmor SAUCE patches which fail to acquire a lock when modifying a linked list. An unprivileged local user could trigger the race condition that can lead to a use-after-free (UAF) and, theoretically, arbitrary code execution.
A race condition vulnerability has been identified in Ubuntu Linux 6.8, specifically within the AppArmor component. The issue arises from SAUCE patches that modify a linked list without proper locking, creating a potential use-after-free scenario. This vulnerability could be exploited by an unprivileged local user, leading to theoretical arbitrary code execution.
Users can refer to the Ubuntu Kernel PPA for the official patched version.
