Description
Quest Bot is an opensource modern Discord Bot built for moderation, utilities and support. Prior to version 1.0.5, the AutoMod remove flow looks up and deletes rules by global database ID without verifying that the rule belongs to the guild where the command is executed. A user can learn a victim guild’s AutoMod rule ID through autocomplete, then remove that rule from another guild where they have Manage Server. This issue has been patched in version 1.0.5.
A vulnerability in Quest Bot's AutoMod feature allows users to delete moderation rules from other guilds. This issue affects Quest Bot versions prior to 1.0.5. The vulnerability arises because the AutoMod removal process deletes rules based on a global database ID without confirming that the rule belongs to the guild where the command is issued. Users can exploit this by retrieving a victim guild's AutoMod rule ID through the autocomplete feature and then using it to remove the rule from a different guild where they have 'Manage Server' permissions.
Users can update to Quest Bot version 1.0.5, where this vulnerability has been patched.
