CVE-2026-47165 Details
Description
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to versions 6.9.13-48 and 7.1.2-23, the distributed pixel cache was originally designed to operate without a challenge–response authentication model. This has been changed in versions 6.9.13-48 and 7.1.2-23.
A vulnerability exists in ImageMagick versions prior to 6.9.13-48 and 7.1.2-23, where the distributed pixel cache was designed to function without a challenge-response authentication model. This lack of authentication can lead to unauthorized information disclosure. The vulnerability arises from the original design of the pixel cache, which did not incorporate necessary security measures to protect against potential misuse.
Users can upgrade to ImageMagick versions 6.9.13-48 or 7.1.2-23 to address this vulnerability.
