Description
Misskey is an open source, federated social media platform. IVersions 8.63.0 and later, but prior to 2026.5.4, contain a vulnerability that can cause the Misskey web client to slow down or crash when it applies a malformed theme. This issue has been fixed in version 2026.5.4.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in Misskey versions 8.63.0 and later, but prior to 2026.5.4. When a malformed theme is applied, it can cause the Misskey web client to slow down significantly or crash. This issue arises from uncontrolled recursion during theme compilation.
Users can update to Misskey version 2026.5.4, where this vulnerability has been patched. Alternatively, trusted or pre-installed themes can be used, and any theme code should be manually checked for recursive property references before applying.
