Description
Stack-based buffer overflow in Active Directory Domain Services allows an authorized attacker to execute code over a network.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Active Directory Domain Services. This vulnerability allows an authorized attacker to execute code remotely over the network. The issue arises from an out-of-bounds write in the directory service process, which can be triggered by crafted inputs sent through the NSPI RPC interface.
Users can download the security update for this vulnerability via the Microsoft Update Catalog. Security update KB5094125 is available for Windows Server 2025 and Windows Server 2025 (Server Core installation). Security update KB5094128 can be downloaded for Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2022 (Server Core installation).
