CVE-2026-45576 Details
Description
zrok is software for sharing web services, files, and network resources. From 0.4.23 until 2.0.3, `zrok2 copy` stores attacker-controlled WebDAV or zrok drive paths such as /../outside.txt in the source inventory and passes them to FilesystemTarget.WriteStream, allowing the sync pipeline to write files outside the selected local filesystem destination root. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.3.
A vulnerability in Zrok versions 0.4.23 prior to 2.0.3 allows for arbitrary file writing on the local filesystem. The issue arises in the 'zrok2 copy' command, which can be directed to a WebDAV or Zrok drive. The application improperly handles paths, such as '/../outside.txt', by writing files outside the designated local filesystem destination. This flaw is rooted in inadequate path validation, enabling directory traversal exploits that could overwrite sensitive information.
Users should update to Zrok version 2.0.3, where this vulnerability has been patched.
