Description
Open WebUI is a self-hosted artificial intelligence platform designed to operate entirely offline. Prior to 0.5.7, a user can modify another user's model even if its visibility is set to Private. By changing the access permissions during editing, unauthorized access can be gained. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.5.7.
A vulnerability in Open WebUI, prior to version 0.5.7, allows users to modify models belonging to other users, even when those models are set to private. This is possible by altering access permissions during the editing process, thereby gaining unauthorized access. The issue arises from a lack of proper authorization checks in the model update function, which fails to prevent users from interfering with each other's private models.
Users are advised to update Open WebUI to version 0.5.7 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
