Description
A time-of-check time-of-use vulnerability in the Apex One/SEP agent could allow a local attacker to escalate privileges on affected installations. Please note: an attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
A time-of-check time-of-use vulnerability has been identified in the Trend Micro Apex One and Standard Endpoint Protection (SEP) agent. This vulnerability could allow a local attacker to escalate privileges on affected installations. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker must first gain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system.
Users of Trend Micro Apex One (on-prem) should update to SP1 CP Build 18012 or SP1 Build 17079. For Trend Micro Apex One as a Service and Vision One - Standard Endpoint Protection (SEP) users, the latest Security Agent build 14.0.20731 is recommended.
