Description
Software installed and run as a non-privileged user may conduct improper GPU system calls to trigger OOB access and kernel null pointer dereference in an error path. Null pointer dereference occurs in an error path of a function running in kernel thread of execution leading to kernel exceptions, platform instability and denial of service.
A vulnerability exists in the Imagination Technologies GPU driver that allows software running as a non-privileged user to make improper GPU system calls. This can lead to out-of-bounds access and a null pointer dereference in the kernel, causing kernel exceptions, platform instability, and a denial-of-service condition.
The DDK kernel module has been updated to address this vulnerability. Users should consult their Imagination Technologies support representative for guidance on applying this update.
