CVE-2026-44960 Details
Description
A stored XSS can be exploited by leveraging the usernames as an attack vector. When an admin user viewed the audit log details for affected entries, any malicious JavaScript payload embedded in the username would be executed due to missing output sanitisation. Proper escaping has been added to the audit log details output.
A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Revive Adserver. This issue arises from the XML-RPC API addUser method, which allows the creation of usernames containing malicious JavaScript payloads. When an admin user reviews the audit log entries associated with these usernames, the embedded scripts are executed due to inadequate output sanitization. Although proper escaping has been implemented in the audit log details, the vulnerability could still be exploited by bypassing username validation rules.
