CVE-2026-44796 Details
Description
Nautobot is a Network Source of Truth and Network Automation Platform. Prior to 2.4.33 and 3.1.2, Nautobot UI object-bulk-rename endpoints (for example, /dcim/interfaces/rename/) were vulnerable to application-wide denial of service via maliciously crafted regular expressions in the find field in combination with the use_regex flag. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.4.33 and 3.1.2.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in Nautobot's object-bulk-rename UI endpoints, such as '/dcim/interfaces/rename/'. This issue affects Nautobot versions prior to 2.4.33 and 3.1.2. The vulnerability arises when users craft malicious regular expressions in the 'find' field, particularly when the 'use_regex' option is enabled. Such crafted expressions can cause the application to hang indefinitely, leading to a significant degradation of service.
Users can upgrade to Nautobot versions 2.4.33 or 3.1.2, where this vulnerability has been patched. Instructions for downloading these versions are available on the Nautobot GitHub releases page.
