Description
OpenClaw before 2026.4.15 contains an arbitrary file read vulnerability in the QMD backend memory_get function that allows callers to read any Markdown files within the workspace root. Attackers with access to the memory tool can bypass path restrictions by providing arbitrary workspace Markdown paths to read files outside canonical memory locations or indexed QMD result sets.
A vulnerability allowing arbitrary file reads has been identified in OpenClaw versions prior to 2026.4.15. This issue resides in the QMD backend's memory_get function, where path restrictions can be bypassed. Callers with access to the memory tool can read any Markdown files within the workspace root, including those outside the designated memory paths or not indexed in QMD result sets.
Users can upgrade to OpenClaw version 2026.4.15 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
