Description
A buffer overflow was addressed with improved bounds checking. This issue is fixed in iOS 18.7.10 and iPadOS 18.7.10, iOS 26.5.2 and iPadOS 26.5.2, macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, macOS Tahoe 26.5.2, tvOS 26.6, visionOS 26.6, watchOS 26.6. A malicious accessory may be able to cause unexpected app termination.
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the MobileAccessoryUpdater component of various Apple operating systems, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS Sequoia, macOS Sonoma, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS. This vulnerability allows a malicious accessory to cause unexpected termination of an application. The issue arises from inadequate bounds checking, which has been addressed in the latest versions of these operating systems.
Users can update to the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, tvOS 26.6, visionOS 26.6, and watchOS 26.6 to address this vulnerability.
