Description
A race condition was addressed with improved state management. This issue is fixed in macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, macOS Tahoe 26.6. An app may be able to gain root privileges.
A race condition vulnerability has been identified in Apple macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 and macOS Tahoe 26.6. This vulnerability allows an application to gain root privileges by exploiting a parsing issue in the handling of directory paths, which was addressed with improved path validation. The vulnerability arises from a race condition that can be manipulated by applications to escalate privileges.
Users can update to macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 or macOS Tahoe 26.6 to address this vulnerability.
