CVE-2026-43423 Details
Description
Rejected reason: This CVE ID has been rejected or withdrawn by its CVE Numbering Authority.
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's USB gadget function for NCM (Network Control Model) has been addressed. The issue arose because the 'ncm_set_alt' function was holding a mutex to prevent races with configfs, which can invoke sleep functions in an atomic context. This vulnerability affects the Linux kernel stable tree. The problematic struct net_device pointer has been removed from the 'f_ncm_opts' structure' to eliminate contention. The connection state is now managed by a new boolean flag, preserving a previous fix for a use-after-free issue. The vulnerability was characterized by a bug report indicating that a sleeping function was called from an invalid context, disrupting the expected operation of the USB function.
Users can apply the latest patches available in the Linux kernel stable tree to address this vulnerability.
