CVE-2026-43193 Details
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix nfs4_file refcount leak in nfsd_get_dir_deleg() Claude pointed out that there is a nfs4_file refcount leak in nfsd_get_dir_deleg(). Ensure that the reference to "fp" is released before returning.
A reference count leak vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's NFS server component, specifically within the NFSv4 file delegation handling. This issue arises in the 'nfsd_get_dir_deleg' function, where the reference to the NFSv4 file is not properly released before the function returns. As a result, the reference count for the file remains higher than it should be, potentially leading to memory management issues.
Users can apply the patch available in the Linux kernel stable tree to address this vulnerability. The patch can be downloaded as part of the Linux kernel source code.
