Description
Parsing arbitrary HTML which is then rendered using Render can result in an unexpected HTML tree. This can be leveraged to execute XSS attacks in applications that attempt to sanitize input HTML before rendering.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the HTML parser of the Golang x/net package, prior to version 0.55.0. The issue arises from the incorrect handling of namespaced elements in foreign content, which can lead to an unexpected HTML structure. This vulnerability can be exploited in applications that sanitize input HTML before rendering it.
Users can upgrade to version 0.55.0 or later of the golang.org/x/net package to address this vulnerability.
