Description
A malicious authoritative server can send a crafted zone via the ZoneToCache function that leads to a crash of the Recursor due to insuffcient input validation.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in PowerDNS Recursor. This issue arises when a malicious authoritative server sends a crafted zone that, due to insufficient input validation, causes the Recursor to crash. The vulnerability is triggered in the ZoneToCache function, where the lack of proper validation allows for disruptive manipulation of zone data.
