Description
VMware Fusion contains a TOCTOU (Time-of-check Time-of-use) vulnerability that occurs during an operation performed by a SETUID binary. A malicious actor with local non-administrative user privileges may exploit this vulnerability to escalate privileges to root on the system where Fusion is installed.
A TOCTOU (Time-of-check Time-of-use) vulnerability has been identified in VMware Fusion, specifically in versions 25H2 and prior to 26H1. This vulnerability occurs during an operation handled by a SETUID binary, allowing a malicious actor with local non-administrative user privileges to escalate privileges to root on the system where Fusion is installed.
Users can upgrade to VMware Fusion version 26H1 to address this vulnerability.
