Description
libexpat before 2.8.0 uses insufficient entropy, and thus hash flooding can occur via a crafted XML document.
A hash flooding vulnerability has been identified in libexpat versions prior to 2.7.6. This issue arises from the library's use of inadequate entropy, which can be exploited by sending a specially crafted XML document. Since version 2.1.0, libexpat has included a function that allows users to provide custom entropy, but the implementation has not been sufficient to prevent hash flooding attacks.
Users can upgrade to libexpat version 2.7.6 or later to address this vulnerability.
