Description
Spring Security Authorization Server's authorization endpoint performs insufficient validation of the request_uri parameter. An attacker can craft a malicious authorization request containing an invalid request_uri and an arbitrary, unvalidated redirect_uri, which can lead to an Open Redirect vulnerability. Affected versions: Spring Security 7.0.0 through 7.0.5. Spring Authorization Server 1.5.0 through 1.5.7.
A vulnerability exists in the authorization endpoint of Spring Security Authorization Server, specifically in versions 7.0.0 through 7.0.5 and Spring Authorization Server versions 1.5.0 through 1.5.7. The issue arises from inadequate validation of the request_uri parameter, allowing attackers to send authorization requests with invalid request_uris and unvalidated redirect_uris. This flaw can be exploited to create an Open Redirect vulnerability.
Users should upgrade to Spring Security version 7.0.6 and Spring Authorization Server version 1.5.8.
