Description
Applications that configure the WebFlowELExpressionParser are vulnerable to the use of malicious Unified EL expressions. Affected versions: Spring Web Flow 4.0.0; 3.0.0 through 3.0.1; 2.5.0 through 2.5.1.
A data binding vulnerability exists in Spring Web Flow versions 4.0.0, 3.0.0 through 3.0.1, and 2.5.0 through 2.5.1. Applications that configure the WebFlowELExpressionParser or its base class ELExpressionParser are susceptible to malicious Unified EL expressions. This vulnerability arises when the useSpringBinding property is not set to true, and view states do not declare binding properties using the binding element.
Users should upgrade to Spring Web Flow 4.0.1, 3.0.2, or 2.5.2, depending on their current version. Instructions for upgrading can be found on the Spring Web Flow release calendar.
