Description
When configured, IP-based access restrictions for httpd do not cover all endpoints, which may allow connections from blocked addresses. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.
A vulnerability exists in F5 BIG-IP and BIG-IQ products due to IP-based access restrictions for the HTTP daemon (httpd) not being comprehensive. This gap may permit connections from addresses that should be blocked. The vulnerability affects several BIG-IP versions, specifically 17.5.0 to 17.5.1, 17.1.0 to 17.1.3, and 16.1.0 to 16.1.6. Notably, F5 BIG-IQ Centralized Management is not vulnerable.
To address this vulnerability, users can upgrade to BIG-IP versions 17.5.1.4, 17.1.3.1, or 21.0.0. For those using BIG-IQ, no specific version is available, but it's recommended to upgrade to a version with the fix. Additionally, management access can be restricted using network firewall rules.
