Description
An issue in the /util/http/prelude.rs endpoint of Datadog, Inc Vector v0.54.0 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted request or payload.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in Datadog Vector version 0.54.0. The issue arises in the HTTP and gRPC ingest sources, where the application improperly handles request bodies. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted requests that either exceed the accepted size limits or use compressed payloads that expand significantly once decompressed. This exploitation leads to excessive memory consumption, causing the Vector process to become unresponsive or even crash, depending on the available system resources.
