Description
Out-of-bounds Read vulnerability in RTI Connext Professional (Core Libraries) allows Overread Buffers. This issue affects Connext Professional: from 7.4.0 before 7.7.0, from 7.0.0 before 7.3.1.3, from 6.1.0 before 6.1.*, from 6.0.0 before 6.0.*, from 5.3.0 before 5.3.*, from 5.2.0 before 5.2.*, from 5.0.0 before 5.1.*.
A critical out-of-bounds read vulnerability has been identified in RTI Connext Professional Core Libraries, specifically in versions 7.4.0 prior to 7.7.0, 7.0.0 prior to 7.3.1.3, 6.1.0 prior to 6.1.*, 6.0.0 prior to 6.0.*, 5.3.0 prior to 5.3.*, and 5.0.0 prior to 5.2.*. This vulnerability allows for an out-of-bounds read, leading to a buffer overread, when the XML parser processes maliciously crafted XML files. The issue can be exploited by injecting harmful XML through the file system, causing potential crashes or unauthorized memory access in the affected application.
Users can upgrade to RTI Connext Professional versions 7.3.1.3 or 7.7.0 to address this vulnerability. For other versions, patches can be requested through the RTI Customer Portal or by contacting RTI Support.
