Description
A vulnerability was identified in Tenda F453 1.0.0.3/3.As. Impacted is the function fromPptpUserAdd of the file /goform/PPTPDClient. Such manipulation of the argument username/opttype leads to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit is publicly available and might be used.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda F453 router, specifically in version 1.0.0.3. The issue arises in the 'fromPptpUserAdd' function within the '/goform/PPTPDClient' file. The vulnerability is triggered by manipulating the 'username' and 'opttype' parameters. When 'opttype' is set to 1, the function improperly passes the 'username' value to 'sprintf' without a length check, allowing for a buffer overflow on the stack. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, potentially leading to a denial-of-service condition or arbitrary code execution.
