CVE-2026-36848 Details
Description
Gigamon GVOS v5.16.1 and below is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in the GVOS H-VUE subsystem.
A critical directory traversal vulnerability has been identified in Gigamon GVOS versions through 5.16.1, within the H-VUE subsystem. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker with network access to the service on port 8089 to read arbitrary files and perform limited write operations (overwriting existing files is not possible) on the system, all with root privileges.
Gigamon GVOS version 6 removed the H-VUE subsystem entirely. Supported customers can obtain upgraded versions of GVOS from the Gigamon community portal. Unsupported customers are asked to contact Gigamon to discuss support options.
