A weakness has been identified in Freedom Factory dGEN1 up to 20260221. This affects the function AndroidEthereum of the component org.ethosmobile.webpwaemul. This manipulation causes improper access controls. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The attack is considered to have high complexity. The exploitability is reported as difficult. A vulnerability exists in the Freedom Factory dGEN1 phone, specifically in the ethOS PWA emulator application (org.ethosmobile.webpwaemul) version through 20260221. The issue arises from the improper access controls of the Android JavaScriptInterface named 'AndroidEthereum', which is exposed to all websites loaded within the emulator's WebView. This vulnerability allows remote exploitation, enabling any website or 'FakeApp' launched in the emulator to silently access the user's Ethereum wallet address without requiring user interaction or consent. This behavior contradicts standard decentralized application security practices, where explicit approval is necessary before wallet information is shared.
It is recommended to restrict the registration of JavaScriptInterfaces to trusted origins, implement explicit approval dialogs for wallet connections, and avoid exposing sensitive wallet functions to untrusted content via 'addJavascriptInterface()'.
