Description
The factory reset functionality in GNCC GP5 v7.1.76 fails to clear sensitive cryptographic material in the JFFS2 configuration partition, possibly allowing attackers to recover and obtain sensitive user data.
A vulnerability exists in the GNCC GP5 indoor camera, specifically in the T23 platform firmware version 7.1.76. The issue arises because the factory reset function does not properly clear sensitive cryptographic materials from the JFFS2 configuration partition. As a result, RSA private keys and Wi-Fi credentials can be recovered after a reset, potentially leading to unauthorized access and data interception.
No patch is currently available for this vulnerability. Users are advised to isolate the camera on a dedicated VLAN without outbound internet access and consider replacing the hardware, as the failure to clear sensitive data makes second-hand resale risky.
