Description
An HTML injection vulnerability in the file view endpoint of LiquidFiles v4.2.7 allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the victim's browser via the uploading of and user interaction with a crafted HTML file.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in LiquidFiles version 4.2.7. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to inject arbitrary JavaScript that is executed in the context of the victim's browser. The issue arises from improper handling of file uploads via the Share API, where HTML files can be uploaded and later accessed in a way that executes the embedded scripts. Notably, this vulnerability bypasses the application's default Content Security Policy, which is designed to prevent such script executions.
Users are advised to update LiquidFiles to version 4.2.8 or higher, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
