Description
An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit a hidden function in the CLI prompt to escape the restricted interface, leading to full compromise of the device.
A vulnerability exists in WAGO managed switches, allowing unauthenticated remote attackers to exploit a hidden function in the command-line interface (CLI) prompt. This exploitation can bypass the restricted interface and grant root access to the underlying Linux-based operating system, resulting in a complete compromise of the device.
Users are advised to update their devices to the specified fixed firmware version. Instructions for downloading the updated firmware can be found on the WAGO CSAF portal.
