CVE-2026-35610 Details
Description
PolarLearn is a free and open-source learning program. In 0-PRERELEASE-14 and earlier, setCustomPassword(userId, password) and deleteUser(userId) in the account-management module used an inverted admin check. Because of the inverted condition, authenticated non-admin users were allowed to execute both actions, while real admins were rejected. This is a direct privilege-escalation issue in the application.
A privilege escalation vulnerability has been identified in PolarLearn versions through v0-PRERELEASE-14. The issue arises in the account-management module, where the functions setCustomPassword(userId, password) and deleteUser(userId) implemented an inverted admin check. This flaw allowed authenticated non-admin users to perform both actions, while genuine admins were denied. As a result, non-admin users could arbitrarily change passwords for other accounts or delete user accounts entirely.
