CVE-2026-31998 Details
Description
OpenClaw versions 2026.2.22 and 2026.2.23 contain an authorization bypass vulnerability in the synology-chat channel plugin where dmPolicy set to allowlist with empty allowedUserIds fails open. Attackers with Synology sender access can bypass authorization checks and trigger unauthorized agent dispatch and downstream tool actions.
A vulnerability allowing authorization bypass has been identified in the OpenClaw application, specifically in versions 2026.2.22 and 2026.2.23. The issue resides within the Synology Chat channel plugin, where the direct message policy (dmPolicy) set to allowlist with an empty allowedUserIds list fails to block unauthorized senders. This flaw enables attackers with Synology sender access to bypass authorization checks, leading to unauthorized dispatch of agents and execution of downstream tool actions.
Users can update to OpenClaw version 2026.2.24 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
