Description
The Event Tickets and Registration plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing capability check on the Stripe OAuth return endpoint in all versions up to, and including, 5.27.4. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to overwrite the site's Stripe merchant credentials (access tokens, publishable keys, and account ID), diverting all subsequent payment processing to the attacker's Stripe account.
A vulnerability exists in the Event Tickets and Registration plugin for WordPress, all versions through 5.27.4. The issue stems from a missing capability check on the Stripe OAuth return endpoint, allowing unauthorized users to modify data. This vulnerability enables unauthenticated attackers to overwrite the site's Stripe merchant credentials, including access tokens, publishable keys, and account IDs. As a result, all subsequent payment processing could be redirected to the attacker's Stripe account.
Users are advised to update the Event Tickets and Registration plugin to version 5.27.4.1 or a newer patched version.
