Description
The issue was addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4, macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, macOS Tahoe 26.4, tvOS 26.4, visionOS 26.4, watchOS 26.4. An attacker may be able to cause unexpected system termination or read kernel memory.
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the handling of maliciously crafted files within disk images, as well as in the ppp component of macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.8. This vulnerability could lead to unexpected system termination, corruption of kernel memory, or unauthorized access to sensitive kernel data. The issue arises from inadequate bounds checking, allowing for memory corruption that could be exploited to read or manipulate kernel memory.
