Description
In PackageInstaller.Session#transfer of frameworks/base/services/core/java/com/android/server/pm/PackageInstallerSession.java, there is a possible memory exhaustion attack due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to local denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
A memory exhaustion vulnerability has been identified in the Android Package Installer. This issue arises from a logic error in the PackageInstaller.Session#transfer method, which can be exploited to cause local denial-of-service. The vulnerability does not require any additional execution privileges or user interaction for exploitation.
Android devices running Android 17 with a security patch level of 2026-07-01 or later are not vulnerable to this issue.
