Description
An issue has been discovered in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 11.2 before 18.7.5, 18.8 before 18.8.5, and 18.9 before 18.9.1 that could have allowed an authenticated user to cause denial of service by exploiting a Bitbucket Server import endpoint via repeatedly sending large responses.
A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in GitLab Community Edition (CE) and Enterprise Edition (EE) versions 11.2 prior to 18.7.5, 18.8 prior to 18.8.5, and 18.9 prior to 18.9.1. This vulnerability could have allowed an authenticated user to disrupt service by exploiting a Bitbucket Server import endpoint, repeatedly sending large responses to cause a denial-of-service condition.
Users are advised to upgrade to GitLab versions 18.9.1, 18.8.5, or 18.7.5. Instructions for updating GitLab can be found on the GitLab Update page. Note that the SLES 12.5 package is not available for GitLab 18.9.1.
