Description
SCEditor is a lightweight WYSIWYG BBCode and XHTML editor. Prior to 3.2.1, if an attacker has the ability control configuration options passed to sceditor.create(), like emoticons, charset, etc. then it's possible for them to trigger an XSS attack due to lack of sanitisation of configuration options. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.2.1.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in SCEditor, a WYSIWYG BBCode and XHTML editor, in versions prior to 3.2.1. The issue arises from the lack of proper sanitization of configuration options, such as emoticons and charset, which can be manipulated by an attacker. This vulnerability allows for the injection of malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
Users are advised to update SCEditor to version 3.2.1 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
