Description
Out-of-bounds read in Windows Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information with a physical attack.
A vulnerability allowing out-of-bounds read has been identified in Windows Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). This issue could enable an unauthorized attacker to disclose information through a physical attack, by unintentionally accessing kernel memory from a user mode process.
Users can apply the security update for this vulnerability, which is included in the January 2026 Monthly Rollup, available through the Microsoft Update Catalog. For Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, Windows Server 2022, Windows 11, and Windows Server 2025, specific update KB numbers are provided.
