Description
A vulnerability was detected in zhayujie CowAgent up to 2.1.1. This vulnerability affects the function _select_tools of the file agent/evolution/executor.py of the component Self-Evolution Review Agent. Performing a manipulation results in incorrect authorization. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used.
A vulnerability exists in zhayujie CowAgent versions through 2.1.1, specifically within the Self-Evolution Review Agent component. The issue arises in the _select_tools function of agent/evolution/executor.py, where improper authorization allows a background review agent to regain access to MCP tools that should have been restricted. This flaw can be exploited remotely, leading to unauthorized modifications in the workspace or triggering external actions, depending on the configured MCP tools.
Users can update to CowAgent version 2.1.5, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
