Description
Insufficient validation of untrusted input in DevTools in Google Chrome prior to 151.0.7922.72 allowed an attacker who convinced a user to install a malicious extension to perform privilege escalation via a crafted Chrome Extension. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
A vulnerability in Google Chrome's DevTools component, prior to version 151.0.7922.72, allowed for privilege escalation. This issue arose from insufficient validation of untrusted input, which could be exploited by an attacker to convince a user to install a malicious extension. The crafted extension could then escalate privileges within the browser.
Users can update to Google Chrome version 151.0.7922.72 or later to address this vulnerability.
