CVE-2026-1771 Details
Description
The MapSVG plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the SVGFile constructor in all versions up to, and including, 8.14.0 This is due to an incorrect conditional check that prevents file validation from taking place. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible.
A vulnerability allowing arbitrary file uploads has been identified in the MapSVG plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 8.14.0. This issue arises from inadequate file type validation in the SVGFile constructor, where an incorrect conditional check fails to enforce proper validation. As a result, authenticated attackers with Administrator-level access can upload arbitrary files to the server, potentially leading to remote code execution.
Users are advised to update the MapSVG WordPress plugin to version 8.14.1 or a newer patched version.
