A security flaw has been discovered in AstrBotDevs AstrBot up to 4.25.5. Affected by this vulnerability is the function _build_handoff_toolset of the file AstrBot/astrbot/core/astr_agent_tool_exec.py of the component Subagent. A vulnerability allowing incorrect authorization has been identified in AstrBotDevs AstrBot versions through 4.25.5. The issue arises in the subagent component, specifically within the '_build_handoff_toolset' function of 'astrbot/core/astr_agent_tool_exec.py'. This vulnerability allows low-privileged users to access admin-restricted tools by exploiting the subagent's tool management system. The problem occurs because the subagent improperly constructs its toolset from unfiltered raw data, bypassing established permission checks. As a result, member-level users can invoke tools intended for admin use, potentially leading to unauthorized actions on the filesystem, host, or external services, depending on the tools involved.
Users can update to AstrBot version 4.26.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed.
