Description
The Academy LMS WordPress plugin before 3.8.3 does not verify course enrollment or lesson publication status when returning a single lesson through its REST API, allowing users with a self-service student (Subscriber-level) account to disclose the content of arbitrary lessons, including lessons of paid courses they are not enrolled in and unpublished (draft, pending, private) lessons.
A vulnerability exists in the Academy LMS WordPress plugin in versions prior to 3.8.3. The issue arises because the plugin's REST API does not properly verify course enrollment or lesson publication status when retrieving individual lessons. This flaw allows users with a self-service student (Subscriber-level) account to access and disclose the content of any lesson, including those from paid courses they are not enrolled in, as well as unpublished lessons (draft, pending, or private).
Users are advised to update the Academy LMS WordPress plugin to version 3.8.3 or later.
