pcapng file parser crash in Wireshark 4.6.0 to 4.6.6 allows denial of service
A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Wireshark versions 4.6.0 through 4.6.6. This issue arises in the pcapng file parser, specifically when handling Darwin Process Info Block (DPIB) UUID options. The vulnerability allows for memory corruption, which can lead to a denial-of-service condition by causing the application to crash.
Users are advised to upgrade to Wireshark 4.6.7 or later.
