Description
osTicket versions v1.18.3 and v1.17.7 contain a Broken Object Level Authorization (BOLA) leading to Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) in the AJAX ticket-management subsystem.
A vulnerability allowing Broken Object Level Authorization (BOLA) has been identified in osTicket versions 1.18.3 and 1.17.7. This flaw leads to Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) within the AJAX ticket-management subsystem. The issue arises because the authorization checks for accessing ticket fields via AJAX requests do not consistently verify whether the user has the right to access tickets from their own department. As a result, an agent can bypass department-level restrictions and access tickets belonging to other departments.
Users can upgrade to osTicket versions 1.17.8 or 1.18.4, both of which include the necessary patch to address this vulnerability.
