CVE-2026-1395 Details
Description
The Gutentools plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the Post Slider block's block_id attribute in all versions up to, and including, 1.1.3. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping combined with a custom unescaping routine that reintroduces dangerous characters. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Gutentools WordPress plugin, affecting all versions through 1.1.3. The issue arises in the Post Slider block, where the block_id attribute lacks proper input sanitization and output escaping. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users view the injected content.
Users are advised to update the Gutentools WordPress plugin to version 1.1.4 or later.
